Little Creatures and friends will take you through that first learning curve at Good Beer College at the Festival Hub.

Good Beer College peels back the mystery of beer, leading you through the importance of freshness, the impact of ingredients like malt, what techniques such as barrel aging can achieve, and the background of styles such as the IPA.

These entertaining and info-packed sessions are perfect if you’re just dipping your toes into the beer world, or if you and a few mates are keen to learn more about a particular element of beer tasting.

As well as presenters from Little Creatures, local and international guest speakers will showcase the beauty of beer and show you how to unlock your tastebuds when your get your lips around your next glass.

Covering off the basics of brewing and beer, Good Beer College is here to prove that beer has moved up in the world, and now it really is bigger than lager!

Sun 15 May, 1pm-3pm - Beer 101: Your survival kit for the world of good beer. With special guest Frazer Rettie from Exit Brewing and Ben Waymouth from Napoleone.

Mon 16 May, 4pm-5pm - Paddock to pint: What’s malt got to do with it? With special guest Dereck Hales from Bad Shepherd Brewing Co.

Tues 17 May, 4pm-5pm - Working with Wood: The thrills & spills of spontaneous fermentation. With special guest Costa Nikias from La Sirene.

Wed 18 May, 4pm-5pm - For the Love of Hops: The journey of the IPA. With special guest Steve Allerston from BrewDog UK.

Thurs 19 May, 4pm-5pm - Pucker Up: Suck it up with sour beers. With special guest Drew Bombard from Brooklyn Brewery NY.

Fri 20 May, 4pm-5pm - Hale the Pale: Old World vs New World pale ales. With special guest Adrian McNulty from Moon Dog Brewing.
