Much like beer needs water, a festival needs an opening party! Join us at the Festival Hub as the sixth Good Beer Week gets underway, for an evening of great beer, live music and plenty of good times.
Kicking off on the evening of Friday, May 13, the Opening Party will be full of good vibes, as special guests and plenty of Australian and international brewers get together to toast the start of the “best beer week in the world”!
To really start the festival off with a bang, Mighty Duke & The Lords will be hitting the stage with their high energy mix of mad calypso, sharp linen suits and junk percussion. Whether on land or the open sea, the Mighty Duke keeps the party shaking until the fish have gone to sleep!
Admission is free, and the beer list is extra special - including a tasting paddle of the Festival Beers from Little Creatures, Bridge Road Brewers, Boatrocker Brewery, and Feral Brewing Co, so make sure you get yourself to Beer Deluxe nice and early to help Good Beer Week celebrate its sixth birthday. And what a birthday it’s going to be!
In honour of the Opening Party being the first day the 'festive season', we've got a knitting pattern ready to go for anybody who wishes to get into the spirit. Rock up to the Opening Party wearing your BIGGER THAN XMAS jersey loud and proud, and you'll be bumped straight on to the VIP list and have access to the Official Festival Brewery tab!
